Spring Cookie Cutter - Star - Zimtsterne

We whip up Zimtsterne cookies every year, but the dough gets stuck in standard cookie cutters, making it a hassle to get out. I decided to create a spring plunger-style cookie cutter and it turned out fantastic! The shaft is 8mm and designed for a 9.5x16mm spring that I happened to have from this kit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KZP0WOS/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_91v-DbF2ACN5R. The threaded plunger makes it easy to assemble and disassemble for cleaning. You'll need to find the right orientation for the center star, as some positions fit better than others, despite the design's supposed symmetry. Simply rotate the star until you find the best fit before attaching the plunger. This design is versatile, and I came up with a specific shape that suits my needs, but it can easily be remixed to create any other shape. The .step file is provided for this purpose, so feel free to get creative! I printed the cutter in PLA and it's held up well after a few uses and cleanings. As with all 3D prints used for cooking, keep in mind that bacteria can grow on them, so make sure to keep it clean and consider disposing of it after a few uses.
