This is a spring loaded sponge holder with an ability to wick using one hand. The idea is to have the dish soap bottle sitting vertically and to feed through the bottom opening in the sponge holder. By pushing in the sponge with one hand will allow the transfer of soap to the sponge. I came up with this design when i was doing ALOT of dishes accumulated over a week span. I realized that i had to stop and reapply the soap to the sponge when the sponge was no longer saturated with soap, with both hands. I noticed that it was inefficient because i needed the use of both of my hands. This design would solve the soap application to one hand. Once the soap saturation on the sponge is down to a minimum. I would simply need to place the sponge in the receptacle and slightly push down, reapplying the soap.Since the contact area of the sponge and the soap is spring loaded the area would return to its original position. NOTE: 1) The design is based on a 20 FL OZ bottle and a regular sized sponge (6.25"x3.5"). 2) The springs can be found in McMaster Carr catalog PN# 1986K3 or similar substitute.
