Springy Topsy Turvy Top

Springy Topsy Turvy Top

thingiverse

This long-spinning top has a spring suspension built into the bottom, making for extra smooth running - and smoother running means longer spin times. Like it's cousin (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:681860) it prints in a single piece upside-down. Instructions Printed in PLA, 0.2mm layers, 3 perimeters, 3 bottom layers, 4 top layers, and 50% infill. No supports needed. The spiral suspension spring makes a bit of a rats nest on the underside but it seems to clean up pretty well by the time it gets to the top layers. You'll probably need to run an x-acto knife through the spiral to cut away any stray strands of filament.
