This is a draft model of the SS City of Launceston. She was sunk in 1865 in Port Phillip Bay when she was struck by the SS Penola. The ship took on water quickly and sunk upright where she rests on the seafloor today. The wreck was rediscovered in 1980 and the SS City of Launceston became the first ship in Victoria protect under the Historic Shipwrecks Act.
