SS East Wales, built by W. Dobson & Co., Newcastle in 1915 and owned at the time of her loss by East Wales SS. Co., Ltd. (Gibbs & Co.), Cardiff, was a British steamer of 4321 tons. On October 14th, 1917, East Wales, en route from Newport in ballast, was sunk by the German submarine U-57, 3 persons were lost.
