SSOP-08 SMD adapter

SSOP-08 SMD adapter

thingiverse

A small PCB that breaks out SSOP-08 packages to a standard 0.1" pin spacing. This allows you to use these SMD devices with bread boards and strip boards. I created this board so that I could use a PCA9306 I2C level shifter in a prototype, but it'll work with any SSOP-08 device. Instructions Use EagleCAD (http://www.cadsoft.de/) to load and print out the PCB design. Alternatively, download the 10 way PNG file and print at 600dpi. Use your PCB transfer and manufacturing process of your choosing to fabricate the circuit board. I used a photo-resistive board with UV exposure. The board was then developed, etched and stripped. Drill out the 8 holes for the bin headers. Position your SSOP-8 package on the board and solder in place. I used solder paste and a hot air reflow tool. Solder in the pin headers. Verify that you don't have any shorts or bridges electrically with a multi-meter, and visually with a magnifier.
