St-Roch RCMP ship

St-Roch RCMP ship

St-Roch was the first ship to have traveled through the north-west passage both ways. The voyage took over two years. The real ship is an exhibit at the Vancouver Maritime Museum. I made this simplified model for my 6yo; it's based on the blueprints of the ship. There are three registration holes in both parts; insert a bit of filament to keep the parts lined up while gluing. The larger whole going through both parts is for filling the ballast tank with water (it's basically a bath toy). Finally, there are holes for the masts in the deck (no model, I'm going to make them out of wood); as well as for the life boat cranes. Last but not least, I have added ladders to the model after the photos were taken.
