Stackable Bed Riser

Stackable Bed Riser

This is a stackable bed riser. I have a bunch of sinus congestion and decided to raise my headboard. However I don't want it to feel weird. The plan is that I'll raise it a little bit with this but left some lego like holes on the bottom so that I can add parts to the bottom to raise it further in the future gradually getting to where I want it to be.

The bed rail sits inside the hole 25mm so it doesn't wobble out, and under that is 25mm of height. Roughly 1 inch. All beds are different so I included the fusion file so that the thing can be modified to fit different sizes.

The design could probably work with pla but if you can print with petg as beds are pretty heavy. Having said that I believe any more than 20 percent infill is a waste of material.

The sides are sloped on the left right and front to keep the bed from wobbling but not in the back so it can push flush to the wall.

There are a bunch of holes on the bottom for a couple reasons. One is to help it grip carpet a little better. If putting on wood I might consider a little TPU or something under it to keep it from sliding.

The main function though of the holes is that if down the road you want the bed higher you can take the fusion file and follow the path of the slope and hole pattern and just extrude the holes in the other direction with a slight taper to make a male female lego type connection.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

i3 MK3

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Doesn't Matter

Resolution:

.2

Infill:

20 percent

Filament:
esun PETG black

Category: Household
