Flaming Cobra Salamander-kin were created by an experiment which drained the fiery energy of stolen salamander fire snake eggs into dozens of cobra eggs. The resulting creatures, while not nearly as powerful, bred true. Their offspring have gained the nickname "spitfires" for their ability to spit the equivalent of lantern oil that breaks down quickly and then as a follow up action generate a minor spark to light the oil. These snakes typically use this to "cook" their food to make it easier to digest. Some mages have been known to take Flaming Cobras as familiars. This staf has several powers related to fire and uses several petrified flaming cobras in its creation. However, it also has a spell related to poison/venom that sets a person's blood on "fire".
