On my local church we have some different stage platforms (i.e. Stageworx UniStage) that we want to securely connect. The stage platforms provide for a fastening system (by inserting plastic elements between the profile), but in this case we needed fastening on the underside.

I constructed a 3D-printed clamp that uses a M10 screw for applying the forces. The different stage platforms have different profiles. So the left and right side had to match the specific platform-profile. I added a blender-file where you can adjust the platform-profile to your own needs.

From you local hardware store you will need:

1x M10 screw (10x140 mm)

1x M10 hexagon nut

2x M10 ring washer (max. 30mm outer diameter)

Details about the construction:

The screw will take the force in tensile direction. The ring washer increases the force distribution to the 3D-printed part.

I added a couple of internal shafts to increase the contact surface in the direction of pressure.

Security/legal note
This is a homemade system - use at your own risk. Try and test before use in production.

Print instructions

Attention: make sure to print the piece laying on the side. The tip of the tear-drop-shape in the screw hole should point to the top. In this direction ...

... the print layers will take the maximum forces of the stage platform

... you need no support

Print settings
I printed mine with 0.6mm nozzle and 0,35 mm layer height - other nozzle sizes and layer heights should be fine to.

No support needed (see notes above).

25% infill

PETG is recommended

After printing

add one of the ring-washers inside the slot

use a hair dryer to heat the 3D-print and the nuts and press them into the hexagonal holes of the print with sufficient force. (otherwise the nuts will not fit inside the holes!)
