The Stahlhelm was originally probuced by the German Empire. Austria-Hungary bought the license and started to produce their versions of the iconic helmet in 1916. The Royal Hungarian army (Magyar Királyi / Königlich-ungarisch) was adopted the design in 1917 and named Stahlhelm M17.
