Stand for 'Destination Moon' Rocket

Derived from Len Hickman's display stand for Thunderbird 3, this elegant stand shows off the graceful retrofuturistic lines of the Luna spaceship from the '50s classic Destination Moon. Print in transparent PLA for a great effect. Mar 14, 2016: A redesigned Moon Stand is available as http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1347852 Instructions Using Super Glue or similar, attach Luna_stand_top to Luna_stand_base as shown. When the glue is dry, wedge one of the rocket's fins between the pointed ends of the angled portion of the top section so the angled section holds the ship snugly where the fin meets the body, as shown in the photo, Note: 5% infill, 2 shells recommended. You may need to increase the infill on the base if your Luna spaceship is printed with more than 5% infill. (0% worked well for me.) Note also that some 3D printers can successfully print the base and top as one piece, without support. If you want to give this a try, use Luna_stand_one_piece.stl
