I've tried this on two 7" tablets and a smartphone, all about 9 - 10mm thick.It would probably also hold larger tablets if you make the recess a bit deeper.I designed it to hold the tablet near vertical for use as an alarm clock. So it might not be of use if you want to watch movies or anything that would need the tablet to lean back more.
