Stabilization Add-ons for crutches - "stand & sit" This project was done through a "fixperts" course in our Industrial Design studies, in which we came together in order to solve the problem of fallen crutches while leaning them against surfaces such as walls and table-tops. You can watch the YouTube video telling the story and explaining the project: These are two objects, which are ready for printing, but you'll need to acquire two additional materials for them to work: 1. For attaching "stand" to the crutch's cuff - Strong double-sided adhesive tape (1/2" or 12mm wide) - https://www.amazon.com/3M-VHB-5952-Automotive-Industrial/dp/B00MAQBPEM/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=3m+double+sided+tape+0.5+in&qid=1610727539&sr=8-4) 2. For enhanced friction - Half-dome shaped, adhesive silicone rubber bumpers(10mm) -https://www.amazon.com/100Pack-Cabinet-Bumpers-Diameter-9-5mmX3-8mm/dp/B078ZCQFLF/ref=sr_1_12?dchild=1&keywords=scotch+bumpers+10mm&qid=1614092643&sr=8-12) "stand" assists with leaning a single crutch (or both of them) against a vertical surface like a wall / door / window Attaches to the crutch's cuff with adhesive tape (it has a built-in groove in the back) Size- it sits comfortably on a standard 120mm diameter cuff (*change the print size for bigger/smaller cuff) "sit" helps with leaning the crutch onto a horizontal surface such as a table / kitchen counter / high chair Attaches to the crutch by sliding onto the cylinder of the crutch (the thinner, upper part- crutch's disassembly required) Size- it slides smoothly onto a standard 22mm metal tube (*change the print size for bigger/smaller tube size)
