After my first 30mm die design I decided that I would create 7 Dice that are all of 'standard' size. 5mm and 8mm: These dice are very small and generally used where you are rolling in a confined space. 12mm and 16mm: These sizes are the most common dice found in board games. 19mm: This is the size of dice used in Casinos around the world. 25mm and 50mm: These dice are less practical than their smaller siblings, they could be used as decor or for a bit of fun when playing board games. Their large size makes them incredibly easy to read. Here is where I found the information relating to the standard dice sizes. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 15-20% Notes: You can print at .1 layer height, came out fine for me at .2 so its up to you. Infill is also up to you, 15-20% will be fine for most applications but of course this is also up to you. A brim could be used for the print depending on how large you are printing, 5 lines should be sufficient. Post-Printing This is an image of my 30mm Die. The process to create the 'standard dice' was exactly the same as the one pictured. How I Designed This I created these dice using 123D Design. The process to create these dice starts out with a simple cube, spheres were placed on each face of the cube to represent the numbers; using the subtract tool I removed the spheres whilst still leaving the indentation. All edges had a fillet applied to them to make the dice more aesthetically pleasing and better to roll.
