studentchallenge Problem statement: A problem students may have during virtual learning is watching a video and taking notes. It always takes too long to pause the video, or it’s too hard to remember what was said when you take your notes. Getting rid of this problem would speed up the process of taking notes tremendously. Issues I had with the creation of this project: One of the issues I had was having to make separate pieces because printing at our school is constrained to a 5in by 5in area. Another issue I had leading from this was making connectors for those pieces. The last problem I had was fixing some of the issues my basic sketch had when moving to Onshape to make a functional design. Some things I could've done better: If I could redesign my project, one thing I would change is the rotating connector piece. I feel like I could’ve made a better design so that the pin would have some sort of handle to ease rotating the angle of the top piece. Another thing I could’ve made was a more balanced base. I could’ve made it so that it’s not so blocky and more balanced. How 3d printing helps my design: First of all, 3D printing helps my design because you couldn’t just go to any store or on Amazon and buy this. My design also could be adjusted so that the ledge can fit different phone sizes. Lastly, since all of the parts are designed with exact measurements, in theory, the parts fit each other perfectly.
