replacement gear for the staples high speed cross cut paper shredder, model # SPL-TXC16HSA. This is the only plastic gear inside the paper shredder. Right hand helical gear, 30 tooth internal 9 tooth spur gear Print using PLA or stronger material. Print settings: infill density 75% layer height .13 shell thickness 0.3mm top bottom thickness 0.3mm Assembly instructions: 1. Bottom hole is 13.0mm and needs to be reamed to 13.5mm (.531") before metal spur gear is fitted inside. This is easily done with a razor blade and a round file (use the end of the spur gear as a reference). 2. Heat the helical gear just before assembly to ensure smooth fit. 3. Clamp both the helical gear and the spur gear in vise to ensure even smooth pressure fit. 4. When vise bottoms out against the spur gear, remove assembly from vise, and close the vise to about 3/4". 5. Center the assembly on the vise so that the bottom of the spur gear clears the vise jaws. 6. Gently tap on the spur gear to finish pushing the gear into place. (additionally steps 4-6 can be done on the vise if you use a shim behind the gear.) 7. Spur gear teeth should be sticking out of the helical gear approximately 13mm and should be extending out the bottom approximately 7mm. Your gear should now be ready to be placed back into the shredder.
