The human body is a complex machine that performs numerous functions simultaneously. It consists of various organs and systems that work together to maintain overall health. The brain, heart, lungs, and liver are just a few examples of these vital components. These organs and systems play crucial roles in regulating the body's processes. For instance, the brain controls cognitive functions such as thinking, learning, and memory. Meanwhile, the heart pumps blood throughout the circulatory system, supplying oxygen to tissues and removing waste products. The human digestive system is responsible for breaking down food into nutrients that are absorbed by the body. This process begins in the mouth where teeth break down food into smaller pieces. The tongue then mixes food with saliva that contains enzymes that start to digest carbohydrates. As food moves through the esophagus, it enters the stomach where gastric juices further break down proteins and fats. The partially digested food then passes into the small intestine where most of the nutrient absorption takes place.
