Star Fox 64 Joystick

Have you ever wanted to play Star Fox 64 with a REAL joystick? Now's your chance! I've designed a flight-style joystick meant to modify an OEM Nintendo 64 controller to be used with a Nintendo 64! First thing of note is that this ONLY works with an OEM N64 controller made by Nintendo, I have tested it with modern repro's to little success. The conversion board and potentiometer combination I've listed seems to provide the best feel as long as the X and Y beams are perfectly centered during assembly. All parts should be printed in the orientation I've uploaded them in. Most parts were printed at .2mm with 60% infill and supports everywhere except the screw holes. The buttons and handle cap were printed at .12mm with a raft. If you have a resin printer for the buttons, all the better. The main housing can get away with a lower infill percentage, but the gimbal needs to be sturdy. Obviously, you don't want to go printing every single part in the ZIP file. For starters, I've included a wide variety of face plates, including a blank one. You'll obviously only want to print one, and initiate a color change before the letter background starts. The main shaft also comes in two varieties: one with a built in printed pin, and another with a hole for a 3mmx20mm metal shaft. If you use the printed pin, you must print the SPLIT bearing base or you won't be able to assemble it. If you use a metal shaft, you can print the solid bearing base. I've credited this as a remix of RealRobots' joystick, as the springback hammers are taken from his design directly. All other parts have been designed by me from the ground up in Fusion 360, though heavily inspired by RealRobots' design. Instructional video in the works if needed! Things you'll need to make this work: An OEM N64 controller, preferably with a bad thumbstick as it won't be reused A soldering iron, preferably with heat set tips Various m2 and m3 screws and bolts, it's hard to take a proper inventor there. M3 heat set threaded inserts Some perfboard Preferably a hot glue gun, though not necessarily required Things you'll probably need to go out and buy: https://www.adafruit.com/product/3101 https://a.co/d/5Ipk1u3 https://a.co/d/iOcbUDk https://a.co/d/1oR2K4C https://a.co/d/fh1R1Zj https://a.co/d/9cgYcMe https://a.co/d/gp2AZLy OPTIONAL: https://a.co/d/ebfMcjZ
