I am a student and I couldn't find anything to get my dad for Christmas so i got creative and i used sketch up to design for him a star trek logo trophy on Sketch up 2015, converted it to an .obj file and then 3-D printed it on the Maker bot replicator at school. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Infill: 35% Notes: Rotate so logo faces upward. supports and rafts add structure. add letters if you want to improve customization. How I Designed This Engineering design processes Using the same design process i learned in my engineering class and some of my own imagination i went on Sketch up and i designed this trophy using the star trek logo as a trophy.
