Star Wars Coins - Modular Insert Design
thingiverse
The light and dark sides are just two opposing aspects of a single coin, right? At least that's true in this situation. This is a straightforward modular coin design consisting of three parts: one rim and two inserts. I have included an empty space for remixing or attaching your own designs to the coins as needed. The completed coins measure 36mm in diameter and are 4mm thick. The inserts fit perfectly into the rim, thanks to their precise size. When installed, they have a slight bit of movement left over due to varying printer capabilities. If you don't like this slight give, simply add a small piece (or two) of standard office paper between the inserts to eliminate the movement. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 100 microns Infill: 25% or solid Notes: I printed these coins using PETG, which makes it easier for the inserts to snap into the rim without breaking. They should also work fine with ABS or PLA.
