Star Wars Coins - Modular Insert Design

The dark and light sides are two faces of a single coin, correct? At least they are in this instance. This is a simple modular coin design consisting of 3 components: 1 rim and 2 inserts. I have included an empty space for remixing or gluing your own designs onto the coins as needed. The finished coins measure 36mm in diameter and are 4mm thick. The inserts fit perfectly into the rim, staying securely in place. When installed, they have a slight amount of movement to accommodate various printer capabilities. If you prefer less flexibility, you can insert one or two standard office papers between the inserts to eliminate any excess play. If you decide to print this design, please share it and tag @andrewbougie on Twitter and Instagram. I enjoy seeing what others do with my models! Print Settings: Printer: Printrbot Simple Metal Rafts: None Supports: None Resolution: 100 microns Infill: 25% or solid Notes: I printed these coins using PETG, which may make it easier to snap the inserts into the rim without damaging them. They should work fine with ABS or PLA as well.
