If you make one, please share your Make or tweet it (as a token/payment of gratitude for the design) This is design simple because it was designed to be a "quick simple print" :) DESCRIPTION: I was looking for a straight forward a "star wars like" light saber on here and didn't find any that were just simple fun. The handle is meant to hold 2 C-size batteries in case you want to add a light. What type of light you put in it I'll leave up you you. For this first version you will need 150mm of build height. The tubes are TESTED in ABS. Note: You can print the tubes and the SaberConnector in the same location since they won't touch each other. Estimated print time for EVERYTHING on a Makerbot 2X is about 10 hours. PS: Take out the last tube if you give this to small kids so you don't have to say... "don't poke your eye out". Cheers, Urban https://youtu.be/vvBQnLcc6k8 Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm layer height, 0.4mm head Infill: 15-20% Notes: I would recommend printing this in ABS or PET. I think PLA might be too brittle but of course it all depends on your specific PLA and what kind of FORCE you might be using against the saber. Good Luck. Post-Printing Helper Disk Removal It should only take a few minutes but you can separate the concentric tubes from the 0.2mm layer helper disk at the bottom. I added it there to ensure a good "stick" to the build plate. It should only be one layer thick and easy to remove and peel off.
