This project was based on the project found on Thingiverse on the link:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:256526

I made some modifications and personalizations.
I also created the decals so they can be printed and added to the model giving it a very nice finishing.
Some details were painted using the following Revel Enamel Colours:
Details inside the wings: Metal Grey 91 & Black SM 302
Nose details in yellow: Fluorescent yellow SM312
Droid R2D2 top: Blue 52

The model was printed on PLA white and Grey, this facilitated the finish as there was no need for big painting areas only the details mentioned above. I used the 0.4mm nozzle and the depending the parts details I used 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3mm leyar high.
I also used the new feature from Prusa Slicer for adaptation layer high, this optimized the printing times without compromising the level of detail.

The decals file is sketchup Layout file and is ready to print.
In my case I used a HP Deskjet and inkjet decal transparent paper.
After the decals printed I used spray matt varnish to seal the ink on the paper and after it dry, cut the decals used water to free them from the paper and apply on the model.

Hope you enjoy

Edit 13-3-2021

So after finish my model I was looking at it and though…
“well, this model does not have a landing gear… is meant to be flying… so is better to make something to sit it on and pretending its flying…”
So i designed this stand with 2 inclinations of 10 degrees so it looks like the x-wing is flaying on a left turn and climbing, giving it a dynamic look.
The STLs ara also added in the files.

Edit 9-4-2021

Added missing STL file for the nose tip, thanks to FloridaMan for the notice!
Also created one assembly sequence pdf.
Note that not all details are explained but the images are explanatory, and if you have any question or doubt just drop me a message.

Edit 5-6-2021

Added the decals in PDF format

Edit 31-1-2020

Check out my other Star Wars print here:

https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/126977-tie-fighter-heavy-gunner
