Starfarers of Catan Booster Ring

<p>I made my own version of <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/jdubz23">Justin Watson's</a> <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2776409">Starfarers of Catan Booster Ring</a>.</p> <p>I wanted to make mine in TPU "flex" filament. This way, I could make it fit the mothership more tightly and not spin around. And the grip on the boosters could be tighter, but still easy to insert and remove.</p> <p>I made the whole thing a bit smaller, added a bit more material around the booster notches, and narrowed the openings.</p> <p>In the unlikely event that your original booster clips aren't already broken, you may have to break them off to get this to fit.</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>TPU adheres extremely well. I put a layer of masking tape on my build sheet to make it easier to detach the print.</p> <p>TPU is famously bad at bridging and overhangs, so I printed with supports. I worried the supports might be difficult to remove, but it wasn't a problem. It all came out in one piece. Just a little bit of plucking with needle-nose pliers yielded a passable print.</p> <p>TPU is also known for being stringy. I printed my booster rings one-at-a-time, to avoid stringing between multiple instances.</p>
