May have to call it Gate-Streego! This is a Stargate SG1 Strategy game utilizing most of the rules from the popular game Stratego. This is capture the flag at it's best - capture the Stargate! In the original (Stratego) version, there are two small lakes that provide a "do not enter" area near the center of the board - in my version, there is a Stargate that replaces these lakes (one on each team) that allows instant travel for your players. Additional options have been provided for these spaces (including a pyramid). Right now, the game is played using two sets of identical pieces. I am going to be adding a Stargate Villans set (they will still be identical in strength, but this will allow Stargate Command to go after Anubis, Kinsey, Replicators, Etc.) I am also going to create a "lake plate" for those that wish to use this board for traditional Stratego. Please enjoy! Update 12/31/2020: I have added slicer files for the "Bases" & the "Uprights" - for the bases, I have included two versions - one using supports and color change, and one without. Files have been included for all parts. None of the parts require any supports (see Stargate Bases for an alternate print) You will want to print the following: Stargate Uprights (pawns) These files are the upright Stargate (playing pieces). They can be printed in two colors if desired - slice them so that the color swap occurs just after the outer ring of the Stargate is printed. Quantities needed for each team are included in the filename. Gameboard & Joiners These are the actual Gameboad files - Each section is 5x5 squares with a grid - each section is 200mmx183mm - Once printed, these connect together using The Gameboard Joiner Plate(s) and one of four options: Gameboard Stargate, Pyramid, Blank Insert Plate, or Lake. Quantities needed to assemble a complete gameboard are included in the filename. These can either be printed in a single color, or add a pause in your slicer, and switch colors for the grid. They should just fit - if you would like - super glue them in place. <h3>RULES OF THE GAME</h3>Based on the popular game Stratego, this is capture the flag (Stargate) You need to protect your Stargate while trying to capture your opponents (they will be doing the same thing). You each have 40 identical pieces - They have a rank number or letters. You also have an number of Iris's to protect your Stargate. Some of the pieces are multiples of the same character. After selecting your color, place your pieces on the last 4 rows on your side of the gameboard. The Iris's and the Stargate can not be moved once placed. Pieces can not be placed beyond the fourth row on each side. A piece can move 1 square per turn, forwards, backwords or sideways (no diagonal). The gameboard is made of 10 x 10 squares. Within the board there are two Stargates - An opponent may move his piece to one of the squares in front of the Stargate - on his next turn, he may then be able to either land on an empty square (out of the other Stargate) or move to an occupied space and attack his opponent. The Stargate can be entered from the staircase side only, and travel can occur in either direction. If you enter the stargate on your turn, you must land on one of the open spaces in front of the opposing force stargate, or if the spaces are filled, attack your opponent. If you move onto a space occupied by the opposing player, That is an attack - opponents reveal the pieces, and the weaker of the two is removed (higher number wins). If the pieces are of equal value, the attacker wins the spot. If any opposing piece attacks your Stargate (SGC), that player is declared the winner, and the game is over. Any piece can capture your opponents Stargate. Special Case #1: Siler (#2) can move over multiple open squares per turn, in one direction only. No piece can jump over another piece. Special Case #2: Thor (#10) is your strongest charactor, but can be defeated by Vala (#1) - If Vala (#1) attacks the opposing forces Thor (#10) - Thor loses if Thor (#10) attacks Vala (#1) - Vala loses! - Vala loses to all other players. Special Case #3:: If your player reaches the opposing players back row, you may rescue any one of your atttacked pieces (that had been removed from the board). That piece is placed on any open square on your side of the board. Each player is limited to 2 rescues in a game. Siler can not rescue anyone. An IRIS can not be rescued. Special Case #5:The IRIS can only be defeated by a GDO (#3) - If a GDO attacks an IRIS - The IRIS is removed from the board, and the GDO takes it's place. Any other player attacking the IRIS other than the GDO (#3) - always loses their piece. The GDO can also defeat Siler (#2) and Vala (#1). In all cases, when an Iris is attacked, it is removed from the board. All of the "views" of the various items were first designed in Autocad, and imported into Fusion 360 as DXF files.
