Stark Sigil Metal Casting Mold

Stark Sigil Metal Casting Mold

thingiverse

A mold for use in the lost-pla method of metal casting. This mold is for a 3D Stark Sigil a little larger than those typcally found on ebay and amazon. You will need some type of mold making material such as investment powder or plaster of paris and lots of tutorials about the lost-pla method can be found on youtube. This video is of the actual casting process itself and contains no comentary or information about the mold making process and as a newcomer to it myself I'd advise you to look elsewhere for information rather than ask me. All I offer is the mold stl which comprises two halves which should be glued together with inflamable adhesive (I used UHU POR but any cotact adhesive should work) using the two pins provided to locate the two halves accurately. A shallow recess can be found in the base of the mold with the idea than a name can be engraved on it by way or personalisation. A screw-in loop can also be fitted in the approximate location of the sprue on the back of the wolf's head should you fancy making one into a necklace. Printing at less that 0.2mm layer height is recommended to reduce the amount of polishing required on the finished piece. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CH-ZT8UCaJ8 <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/CH-ZT8UCaJ8" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
