Starshade for detects Alien Life

The unfolding mechanism is based on opening the umbrellas. Umbrellas that are folded inside each other. The outer umbrella opens first, then the ones inside. This is for only one petal proccess. This starshade consists of 24 petals each with a hyper gaussian shape. The stiffening bars of the petals are aluminum sandwich tubes, where the outer and inner aluminum plates fill the space between them with aluminum foam or maybe better polyurethane foam. A petal is held by 4 main rods and several smaller side rods the whole structure are stretched by steel wires. A 3-layer (decraise micrometeorit attack damage)Kapton blanket is attached to the bars. Each petals blanket have to devide 3 peace because of mechanism.The bars lock each other in the open state. Please see the attached pdf file.
