Starship Heart of Gold - Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

thingiverse

The ship from the 2004 Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was a large, smooth orb shape, the back of which was concave with blue coloured lights and processors inside, with Infinite Improbability Drive set within. The unique thing about the Heart of Gold is that it is powered by the Infinite Improbability Drive, a small golden box at the heart of the ship — hence its name. This is, of course, powered by an infinite improbability generator. As soon as the ship's drive reaches infinite improbability, it passes through every point in the Universe, thus allowing the ship to go anywhere without all of that mucking about with hyperspace and what not. ------------------------------------------------------------ The model was made from scratch in Blender from what small amount of reference photos I could scrap together. There's really not much material on this ship in general, so this mesh is more of an approximation. I did try to get a few details in however, like the front door, rear hatch for the red lifeboat and the legs if anyone wants to attempt a landed variant. If anyone makes a tiny one with an SLS printer it should be pretty close to the actual one during the total perspective vortex arc.
