This is a statue of a draped male, called the "Pinali orator", it was made in Greece in the Roman age. The head, restored, is attributed to Antonio Canova; the right hand was completed by Luigi Zandomeneghi after 1796. The statue was part of the collection of Marco Foscarini (Doge of Venice in 1763), it was bought in 1817 by Gateano Pinali, on display in his mansion near Porta Leoni in Verona, then donated to Verona in 1844.
