A sanctuary had been found in the territory of Ariccia and Casaletto, dedicated to Demeter and Koré, divine personifications of the generative forms of the earth. Numerous terracotta objects were discovered in a votive deposit.  This staute of Demeter was created in a rosy-beige clay, worked by fetting and in part by a die box. The goccess has a chitone and cloak, sitting on a wide and decorated throne. The goddess is nicely ornated with a diadem and ears of a corn throne, and jewellery. She is holding in her hand some ears of corn which is a typical attribute of her divinity.
