Funny how adding more RAM to my struggling iMac suddenly gave it a terrific performance boost to create better models in Photoscan. With that in mind, I revisited a recent project, a 19th century bronze model of the Statue of Liberty that was made to order by the Parisian foundry Thiebaut Freres. I'm thrilled with the improvement in detail, but I had to sacrifice much of the finest details to keep the mesh file small enough to meet the requirements for uploading and sharing it. The original model looks even better than this example. I still need to learn more about Meshmixer and Blender so I can better fix the many little flaws the 3D model still has. I'm looking forward to perfecting this! (I just recently was thrilled to see that it was printed with photos documenting how the model was slightly modified.
