StaX: A Machined Aluminum Modular Container

NOTE: When designing accessories, please start with the models labeled "starter". These files have additional clearance in the threads to enable 3D printed parts to mate with the machined parts. Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------ StaX is an open platform, modular container expandable with 3D printing that is coming soon to Kickstarter. To put it simply, we have 3 distinct machined components that use a 3.375" 4 start thread to assemble. There is a top, bottom, and mid section. So you can assemble a container as high you have mid sections. You can also assemble a top/bottom piece to make a small container. StaX will come in a variety of anodized colors. We have prototypes in hand (see product photos) and they look and feel great. We are releasing all of the model files to encourage people to utilize the interfaces to expand StaX with 3D printed accessories. We've added desk organizer inserts, planters, beer mug handles, contrasting spacers, wall mounts, among other things. There is a PDF in the project that includes details of different ways you can interface with the product. There is also a "starter" file that has looser fitting threads modeled that will interface with the aluminum parts. We recommend using this file versus modeling the threads yourself. Please create accessories, render them up, and add them to the project!
