Steam Deck Noise Redirecting Fan Scoop

Steam Deck Noise Redirecting Fan Scoop

THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS In theory this fan scoop should redirect some of the fan noise away from the user. I say in theory because I don't have my Steam Deck. It should dampen the sound because I used the same basic idea on my Ender 3's PSU with this print.and it lessened the noise. If you hear no noticable sound differnce please post some comments. How to mount it… It mounts with the open fins to the rear. I've provided a scoop without the mount plate and one with one, as honestly I don't know a better way to mount it without having a Deck in my hand. The non-mount plate version, double stick tape is probably your best bet to mount it. Also double stick tape on the mount plate version would probably work better then sourcing longer screws to mount it, but I'm giving you options. I'd imaging I could probably put in some slot clips to hold onto the fan slot rather then a big plate, I'll look into that once I get my Deck. The model requires no supports to print. The scoop sticks out about 12mm off the top of the Deck. The scoop takes significant heat and should be printed in high temp filament. I've added a larger Fan Scoop, which is a little over double the size to allow better airflow. As this is untested by me, please follow this discussion on Reddit about the print: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/tho7fb/3d_model_for_a_noise_redirecting_fan_scoop_for/ Edit: I've now added a model with juniortrd's Steam Deck Clip-On model build in.
