Steam Locomotive (Walschaerts Valve Gear)

This is an original project, containing a complex animation, with interesting added sounds - see all, till the end.3D modeling with Autodesk Inventor 2014 of every part (.ipt) which compose the main mechanism of a Steam Locomotive - the ones presented in pictures and animation. The .iam file contains also the Animation Timeline for the animation added. You can intervene and change the movie by entering Environments / Inventor Studio.Mind that all the wheels are Angle constrained because they are rotated by animating these constraints. You shall note that the coupling rod cannot produce the rotation of wheels! Conversely, the main wheel (the middle one) creates the 2D movement of the coupling rod. I did not use any plans or drawing - every single part is just as I saw on Internet here and there, even in small films on Youtube (like this one: https://youtu.be/P70XTTe8O7s). When I was a child I was wondering how that big machine was functioning, together with my brother and both guided by our dad.
