Steampunk color changing pendent

This is a LED color changing pendent I designed for the girl for last years SteamCon. The internal LED cycles through a bunch of different colors, including purple, blue, red, green and yellow. The circuit is as simple as screwing in a light bulb. The gear on the front is glued on to the base pendent. The pendent could be used hanging from a broach or a necklace. The pendent is not inherently steam punk and could be warn for outfit or costume. Look for more information about how to print and build this, in the instructions. Instructions I printed another object next to the pendent to give each layer an opportunity to cool properly. The internal structure of this pendent is fairly complex and uses bridges and some light overhangs to keep it as light as possible and to eliminate internal shadows. So keep the temperature low. The pendent was designed to print only one layer thick on the outside wall. I don't know how well a full color plastic would let the light through so I would recommend a translucent plastic for the print. You will need a small drill to drill out the top hole for a necklace connection. This was just two small a feature to print. To make the light up portion, I found 3v color changing LED at a local store. I also picked up a battery holder for a CR2032 battery. The battery runs about 3 volts so I decided simply to solder the LED to the battery holder directly as shown in the picture. The light is turned on and off by inserting or removing the battery. Battery life is about two weeks before it starts to fade noticeably and about 2 months for the LED to fail completely. Below are links to the LED and Battery holder I designed this pendent around. Any 3 volt LED would work if you want a specific color. The battery holder was the basis for the design but I suspect other holders could work.
