This four-bar mechanism, often referred to as a linkage, is made up of four interconnected bars and joints. It's designed in such a way that when one of the joints rotates, it causes motion in the other links, making for a simple yet versatile tool. A great example of its use can be seen in machinery where it's used to convert rotary motion into linear movement.
