A steering wheel knob that can be zip tied or clasped to a steering wheel to assist in steering. Currently clasp is untested and will be updated here when ready but zip tying the steering knob to the steering wheel is tested. This project was created with solidpython. To edit this thing, open configuration.toml and set the values you would like to change such as knob_diameter (for hand size) and wheel_diameter for the steering wheels diameter. Ensure you have toml and solidpython packages installed with pip and OpenSCAD installed. On Linux it will render a .stl and .scad if OpenSCAD is on PATH and on Windows it will render .scad which can be opened and rendered manually in OpenSCAD. execute by running "python3 SteeringKnob.py" I recommend adding some 3-in-1 motor oil mixed with petroleum jelly inside the knob after printing to help the bushing glide smoothly. This design was only tested with PETG. I cannot recommend other plastics since the strength of the plastic is important. The slicing direction is already configured but tree supports will be necessary (I sliced with Cura 5.1). Always use caution when driving with a SteeringKnob and ensure it is secure and comfortable before driving on public roads. Test before you drive! Zip ties give an extra rotation dimension which may or may not be preferable and can slip along the steering wheel if not secured correctly. I hope this project helps you as much as it's helped me!
