Stele 11 of Monte Alban

myminifactory

Unique piece, for having been worked in the form of a column carved in high relief. In the upper part are represented the "jaws of the sky" A character richly dressed as a jaguar, stands on top of a place name. In the left section, a very destroyed glyph seems to represent the jaws of an animal. The scrolls that appear on each of the sides of the frame of the inner part are characteristic of the Zapotec glyphic. This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for the public to access for free.
