8/19/20 I found this on amazon when I was working on another project https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075LNWB3M?pf_rd_r=F2Z3AQ6BEY2MHX0GVH0M&pf_rd_p=edaba0ee-c2fe-4124-9f5d-b31d6b1bfbee The size looks perfect but I'm not sure how is it gonna look. If you are having trouble with the core lighting electronics, you can try if this works out. I mean, except you need to charge it, everything else is great, even have a remote control. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is part of a project of a model of Dyson Sphere in game Stellaris. Here are some on going pics. https://imgur.com/gallery/u6sknhY Currently I'm only releasing the Frame and base of this project due to some upcoming changes I want to make on the Star in side. Besides I found the star is kind of changing to most of printer in the market since it have to be uniform enough to be defused evenly. I'll update this project once I finish the other pieces. For assembling, I prefer to glue the frames in to half and half so you can open it and place the star inside later. There are some very small marks on the Hex frames that indicates these edges should be glue to a Pentagon shape frame. NOTICE THAT THE SURFACE ANGLE OF PENTAGONS AND HEXAGONS ARE DIFFERENT, MISS PLACING THEM WILL NOT FORM A SPHERE. And the Pins are for locating easier, same as above, a penta edge will not fit with a hex edge. You would want to press them together using a clamp or something since I found that there are some deformation to the part due to the printer causing a inaccurate angle, which will cause gap if not pressed together. And, the last, for the Pins, I found them hard to print right since they are just too small, you might want to print them shorter so it won't give you a large gap between frames. For the Panels, they have been cut in to 2 for every single panel so you can place both on the bed with no support and better surface finish. I glue them together afterwards using a frame to align them. For the LED core, I used 6 LED Strips with a Arduino controller, you can change it to what ever or just leave it blank. So far with the white defuser shell it looks great.
