Stellina Sleeve & Head System ======================== Telescope (Observation Station) Made by - https://vaonis.com/stellina --- This is a printable Sleeve System with interchangeable head units for the Stellina Observation Station (Telescope) --- The Stellina Sleeve -------------------------- The Stellina Sleeve is the main starter module for the whole system. It has four small legs inside to aid the seating of the sleeve and to create a gap so that nothing can hit the lens. This is designed to take further modules below. Sleeve Cap ---------------- The Sleeve Cap is designed to slot into the Sleeve so that you can create Darks or simply protect the lens from the elements whilst waiting for the skies to darken. Refraction Module ------------------------- Allows for creating star refractions, the grooves are 1.5mm wide and will take a piano wire, thread, or dental floss, this slots into the Stellina Sleeve Base Module Light Shield ---------------- The light shield will slot into the Stellina Base Module and comes in two designs the first offering a 100m light shield extension and the second a super large 150mm light shield extension. --- Background Concept ---------------------------- I made the Stellina Sleeve and the Cap as separate items, after initially creating an all-in-one lens cap, and then realizing I'm going to need a light shield, which would then be a big print as it would require the sleeve component to be printed as part of the light shield, so I came up with the concept of a module-based system. instead of each time having to create the whole unit, refraction head, light shield head, refraction and light shield head, blank head, filter head, and the many combinations of each. I decided to try and design a system that allows the interchanging units (modules). After many experiments and prints, I think I got pretty close to my original concept :-) If you find that you are shooting very low in the sky and you are using the long light shield, I found that it can benefit from small round velcro pads between it and the Sleeve.. I bought some 10cm black velcro pads online. I guess a piece of blue tack will do the same, it's because it's so long and the sleeve plug is only 5mm deep. I found I only needed this for targets very low on the horizon... --- I personally printed in matte black PLA as I prefer the finish, it matches Stellina's finish nicely. Comes with no warranties! Please remember to remove before parking Stellina! If you would like to request a module to hold an attachment, message me you can DM me on twitter @PixelatedDad Clear Skies! ---
