Stepper with Hardware acceleration!

Stepper with Hardware acceleration!

thingiverse

This is an SPI based Stepper controller with a load of cool features. What this means is that the CPU sends a command like, go to position X, and the stepper does this without the CPU needing to worry about keeping position registers or time slicing to make the motor turn, etc. The Steppers controllers also have cool features like hardware acceleration/deceleration, stall detection and various other Stepper related controls including 1/128 microstepping making it so smooth. The only down side to the chip is that it's quite expensive, at $13 a pop (NZD so around $10US). Anyway, this board will fit my Mighty Mega Mother board and should not be used in the standard Mighty board as it's not compatible (Sorry). Instructions The chips datasheet is available at http://www.st.com/internet/analog/product/248592.jsp?WT.ac=motor_control_L6470_250610 Fits in the Mighty Mega board http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:19386
