This is the first FDA-approved face mask for COVID-19. Read the government article here: https://www.governmentciomedia.com/fda-approves-first-3d-printed-mask-covid-19-support Here is the link to the mask on the Health and Human Services website: https://3dprint.nih.gov/discover/3dpx-013429 The mask was designed for high-end fusion printing using Nylon, but with some modifications I have made it compatible with FDM printers, and was printed in TPU on Prusa MK3S with tree supports, as shown above. It comes in two different sizes and any type of filters can be cut to size (2.25" sq) which is slightly smaller than the outlet. Recommended filters to use are (1) MERV13 air filters and (2) cut-to-fit activated carbon filters, layered together. The mask cover works with both sizes and *is recommended to be printed vertically, not flat* for maximum strength. But in testing the cover has been printed flat without any apparent structural loss. I will soon add more support options to allow for printer and material variances. Printed @ .2 mm layer height with 20% infill using SainSmart TPU at 235C.
