Bird Spike Ring for the Stratus Professional Rain Gauge. Ring fits over the Stratus gauge and is secured by an M3-.50 x 20 machine screw and M3-.50 nut. Spikes are made from 16 gauge galvanized steel wire (Lowe's, HomeDepot, hardware stores). Cut 7 wires, about 20 inches long. Bend them in the middle with snub-nosed pliers, then compress the bent wires & pliers in a vice to make sharp 90 degree bends. Slide the wires into the holes and push into the slot on the underside of the ring. Arrange the wires in whatever fashion you think will frustrate the angry birds. Slide completed ring over the top of Stratus gauge and tighten screw just enough for a snug fit. Don't over tighten. Fusion 360 STEP file is included. Feel free to improve it.
