This project is a challenge for students to create the strongest and lightest structure from the provided template. I included a couple other ideas for inspiration. Print Settings Printer: XYZ Davinci Resolution: .2 MM Infill: Your choice keep it consistent Project: Strength Test Objectives: The objective of this project is to educate students on strength to weight ratios and on engineering design. Audiences: This activity is recommended for middle to high school kids or for 3d modeling classes with a basic understanding of physics. Preparation: For this project, a basic knowledge of physics and a 3d modeling program are necessary. Steps: Students should cutout sections of the template file and try to achieve the highest strength to weight ratio possible. Have the students sketch their designs and then cut them out of the template. Print and test which are the strongest. Finally allow students to redesign based on their observations. Results: Students should gain a greater knowledge of physical laws and of strength to weight ratios. they should also learn the value of redesigning, and an understanding of designing for real life.
