String Trellis Hook V1.0

String Trellis Hook V1.0

cults3d

This is a tool used for installing trellis strings for growing tomato, beans, cucumber or other climbing plants in a greenhouse. The tool enables you to easily reach up and put a string or thin rope over a horizontal pipe (or wire, batten etc) rather than lowering said pipe or using a ladder. It will save you time, and is much safer than climbing a ladder! I designed it so it can go over anything up to 70mm by 30mm steel battens, if you need a larger size tool let me know. It fits a standard threaded paint roller extension pole. I will add a straight broom handle and other threaded pole versions if there are requests for that. Here's how it works: 1. Tie your string on the small part, lets call it the flapper. 2. Place the flapper in the fork. 3. Hold the string while pushing the fork up into your greenhouse horizontal. 4. Pull down carefully on the string so the flapper connects on the other side again. 5. Pull the pole down while holding some slight tension on the string. 5. If you did it right, the string should have magically traversed from one side of the horizontal to the other. It is fully functional and tested, but I will update the design based on any 3rd party feedback and further testing.
