Strong Under Desk Cable Management

Strong Under Desk Cable Management

As someone that has a lot of computers, 3D printers, monitors, networking equipment, etc. in my office, I found that I tend to have a lot of cabling running under my desk, and it creates quite a rats nest. I looked around, and didn't find anything that I liked, as most of the options seemed either too small or too flimsy to handle the cables that I am working with. So, I decided to design my own under desk cable management option that is both sturdy and easy enough to install with just a few screws. The "Under Desk Cable Management" design is 66mm x 28mm (2.5" x 1.125") and is designed to be able to hold the weight of many cables. This can be printed in PLA, but if you need extra strength while remaining pliable, I would suggest PETG. The "Desk Routing Jaws" are both 51mm (2") in length, and come in two designs. These are intended for lighter weight applications, or if you have a single larger cable that needs to be run (in my experience, these are just about perfect for one PC power cable, or 2-3 network cables). You should also be able to use these with command strips or other two-sided tape for temporary purposes if you don't want to screw into something. Again, these can be printed in PLA, but for extra strength, I would suggest PETG. All the cable management items are designed with screw holes that are the size of standard drywall screws in mind, but they are intentionally tight, and I found that using 3/4" drywall screws works best.
