Structural Bathroom Signs

Structural Bathroom Signs In most modern American establishments, the restrooms are divided and designated into two categories, men and women. For many people, this divide is normal, functional, and natural, but for others, especially those who deviate from the gender binary and are neither male or female, the dichotomy is confusing and uncomfortable. Structural Bathroom Signs takes gender out of the equation when it comes to marking bathrooms. Made to fit over existing bathroom signs, these signs remove the indication of what gender the user should be, and replaces the usual “man” and “woman” silhouettes with the physical contents of the bathroom, such as toilets, urinals, and sinks, as well as informing the user of handicap accessibility. The sign no longer designates who is in the bathroom, but what is available in the bathroom. The .stl files for Structural Bathroom Signs is presented in a way that allows the maker to customize the sign’s size to fit over and replace any current bathroom sign, as well as customizing how many of each object can go on the sign. As an alternative to labeling bathrooms by gender, one can create a sign that works more as a floor plan for the bathroom and it’s contents. (Disclaimer: There is no option included here for adding a baby changing station to the sign if it is necessary for the bathroom due to site specificity of the original models) Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Infill: 2%
