Sun Microsystems Security Lock Block

Sun Microsystems Security Lock Block

thingiverse

This is a model of the Sun Microsystems lock block. This was included on Sun 4c/4m machines, peripherals, and more. You will need a small machine screw to go with this. On my IPX it took an M3.5 x 10. On my SS20 - it needed an M3 x 10. The original is metal - so printing this thing isn't going to stop anybody. Not that there is an epidemic of people trying to steal Unix workstations from the early 90s anyway :) This is mainly cosmetic and I used this as an excuse to get better at designing models. I printed it in black PLA and it looks great. I suppose if you really wanted to get wacky you could print it in one of the carbon fiber filaments - but that's a whole other rabbit hole...
