The ornaments add a representation of the sun to the diagrams. The idea for these models and ornaments comes from a discusssion of Solstices and Equinoxes on the geomancy web site - http://www.geomancy.org/index.php/astronomy/orthographic-projections Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 mm Note The diagrams are versions of the dxf files at thing:2081305 with bolder lines and marks. The circle, which represents the horizon, is marked at 10 degree intervals. The line cutting the solstices and equinox represents an arc which runs from north to south. It is marked at 10 degree intervals. The arcs representing the solstices and equinox are marked at 15 degree intervals. The positions of the marks on the arcs are foreshortened by projection but can still be used to determine altitudes and hours of daylight. See thing:2081305 for more information.
